Dr. Ruth has helped me immensely. I was lost, confused, terrified and depressed when I first called her. After a few short months of work with her, I am a strong, confident, and happy person.

Hi! I wanted to officially thank Dr. Ruth, and to let her know that the three or four months I spent in counseling with her seemed to be much more progressive than the three or so years I had spent in traditional psychotherapy. Her warmth, her open-mindedness combined with an uncanny sense of what’s really goin’ on and her counseling techniques are tremendous.

For the first time in my adult life, I can look back on my childhood and remember good times, even laugh at some of my childhood horrors. I’ve achieved a sense of forgiveness towards my parents that I didn’t think was possible. This shift in my energy has allowed for significant changes in my relationship with my father.

Fourth of July weekend was when my happy memories started reoccurring. I was thinking about Fourths gone past, and I suddenly remembered silly kid things that I had long forgotten ... pretending to be a machine gun while spitting a mouthful of watermelon seeds ... sparklers ... endless pool games of mermaid and Marco polo ... having a huge crush on the neighbor’s friends kid....

It dawned on me that this was the first time I had utterly happy kid memories, free of the shadowy doom of alcoholic parents. I attribute this directly to the work Dr. Ruth and I did together and I thank her from the bottom of my heart.

Since then, I’ve let go of more and more, and around every corner is empowerment and wonderful energy. I’m doing things I’ve just talked about before—and I know moving is my next big step.
